Van De Yacht & Associates’ Village of Weston direct mail campaign was named a winner in international marketing competition sponsored by the American Economic Development Council (AEDC), headquartered in Park Ridge, Illinois. The Village of Weston’s entry titled “We Deliver” was a unique direct mail promotional kit, mailed to out-of-state business and industry leaders. The goal of the direct mail campaign was to announce the building of the Village’s new business park.
The Agency earned a Best of Show Award for its General Purpose Promotion entry. The award was announced and presented in June to Christine Van De Yacht of Van De Yacht & Associates Advertising Agency, creator of the direct mail promotion, during the AEDC’s 75th Annual Conference and Educational Exhibition, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion, in Dallas, Texas.
“Economic developers work hard to market their communities and are proud of their success. The AEDC Promotional Materials Awards Competition gives international recognition for their efforts,” said Paul R. Lawler, President/CEO of the AEDC.
This is the 42nd year AEDC has held the Promotional Materials Awards Competition, showcasing the best multi-media promotional products created by international economic development organizations for the purpose of attracting or retaining business and industry.
Judges selected the winners, including Van De Yacht & Associate’s Village of Weston mailer on criteria based upon graphic appeal, appropriateness of message, positioning and differentiation and content, and for the electronic media, data type and quality and navigability. Specific awards were for Best of Class, Superior, Excellent and Honorable Mention. The highest awards were those for Best of Show and Special Judges. The five Best of Show winners and the Best of Class winners were displayed at the AEDC Conference.
